Can also be found on Google Maps as the Yellow Pine Trailhead ( JRJ8+M5 Kamas, Utah ; Coordinates: 40.631634, -111.184880 )

WHAT:
This is an exciting route with good variety. We'll start with some road to warm the legs up before climbing up to Wolf Creek Pass Summit via Soap Stone off Mirror Lake Highway. It's a lollipop with very few turns, ultimately connecting to Wolf Creek Pass with a fun road descent into a sharp right to get back on Soap Stone Road. After descending back to Mirror Lake Highway, I threw in an option to finish on the Beaver Creek Nordic (double) Track. This is a mellow dirt option for the last few miles, paralleling Mirror Lake Highway to the finish. A good option for those feeling sporty. If you're feeling more tired than sporty, the road is a nice coast to the car.

HOW:
- Be self-reliant. Bring what you will need to both sustain your body and repair your equipment.

- Download the GPX to your device: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55737970
....and if you don't have a device, print out the cue sheet and bring it with you. In either case, study the map for a minute or two before roll out.

- Shorter option: The ride is ~44 miles with 4,500ft of climbing. This is a no drop ride. There will be regroups and a sweep. There are two options to shorten this ride. (1) Start at soap stone; cut out the first and last 8 miles brings you to a ~28 mile ride. To get to soap stone simply pass the planned start location and drive up the hwy ~8 miles, it's on the right. (2) Turn at the junction/start of the lollipop at mile ~14 at the obvious left turn to start the loop. Option 2 is ~30 miles and less climbing.

- Please, please, please don't be intimidated by the route. Come on out and be comfortable going your own pace. The main goal is to get out somewhere new, off the road (mostly), with good company to share some smiles. We'll likely do a post ride meal somewhere; rider discretion.

Yours in sport,

Andrew Fast
